I’m thinking about getting a medical marijuana card but was wondering if any of my employers would be able to find this?

As far as I know medical records are private and cannot be used in judgement of employment decisions. Although there are drug free workplaces where you can get tested after being employed, the actual card will not show in records. In terms of an MMJ card in California I believe these records are private between you, your Doctor and their verification systems.

Would agree with Wons on this. Most medical records are private, however, if your workplace was to find out, while they cannot legally use your patient status as a valid reason for non-employment, they may due so by their own merit. Many workplaces still due and can legally drug test you prior to an employment offer or on your 1st day on the job. It will usually take 30 days to clear your system, although some people have said that eating a lot of green vegetables and wheat grass shots anywhere between 3-7 before the test can clear your entire system.
