In states like California all of the new rules and regulations are currently being developed. In states that have already gone recreational only time will tell what happens if the country as a whole takes up the recreational stance. I personally think we are 1-2 years away from this – or at least to the point where new laws will be developed on a national level.

I agree with Thomas. The path towards legalization includes the government stepping in on a Federal level. We’ve reached a majority of states with medical cannabis laws with a growing number of states going legal with recreational laws in place. We are getting close to the tipping point. There is a very interesting announcement coming this Summer where the DEA will need to give a stance on whether or not to de-schedule or reclassify marijuana to a Schedule II drug. Marijuana is currently classified a Schedule I drug which lists it alongside “heroin” and “LSD” as the most dangerous drugs. This ABC News article gives some good insight into this upcoming decision!
